Mastering Isometrics – Simplified

An isometric sketch is a two dimensional drawing that provides plumbers with the most information about piping layout. Being able to create accurate isometric drawings is a difficult, yet valuable tool for any plumbing professional. This course provides  plumbers with plans and drawings that require more advanced skills for laying out complicated isometric drawings. Downloadable drawings are included.

OSHA Safety

Instructor: Jenny MacDowell

This one-hour narrated course is a review of the OSHA standards based on 29 CFR 1926 Safety and Health Regulations for the Construction Industry, 29 CFR 1910 Occupational Safety and Health Standards, and 29 CFR 1904 Recording and Reporting Occupational Injuries and Illnesses. These are the current enforceable standards for safety and health of employees in construction activities.

Students will be able to understand and describe the basic components of a construction safety program. They will recognize the hazards inherent at a construction jobsite and describe ways to prevent those hazards. Finally, students will learn the responsibilities of both the employer and the employee in observing established safety practices.

Introduction to Fire Sprinklers

This course is an introduction to the basics regarding fire sprinklers, valves and hydraulic calculations. Students will become familiar with the parts of a sprinkler assembly and the significance of sprinkler orientation.

Introduction to Sprinkler System Layout

Instructor: Karl Wiegand

This course is an introduction to sprinkler system layout. Students will become familiar with sprinkler hazards, sprinkler types, design area, and residential sprinkler systems.

After completing this course participants will be able to:

  • Identify the hazards common to sprinkler systems
  • Select appropriate sprinkler types for each application
  • Use the SxL rule to identify design area
  • Understand the reasons why sprinkler spacing affects the efficacy of sprinkler systems
